“The Building Owners and Managers Association of the East Bay will hold a Texas Hold em fundraiser on Aug 23 with proceeds going to the Childrens Skin Disease Foundation. The event will be held at the 1000 Broadway-Atrium area in Oakland from 5:30 to the last player standing.

Entry Fees are $75 per player (advance registration) and $100 at the door (if available). First 99 registrants are guaranteed a spot in the tournament. Prizes will be awarded to First, Second, and Third Place Winners for Texas Hold’Em.”

Event: EPT Charity Tournament for Dublin (Ireland)

“Dublin once again plays host to one of Europe’s unique events when the Simon Poker Tournament returns as part of the European Poker Tour in Dublin on 3 November 2007 at the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

Last year over 200 players, along with corporate and private donators, raised just under €50,000 for homeless charity Simon Dublin and the event proved one of the most popular on the circuit, attracting players such as Donnacha O’Dea, Jesse May, Scott Gray, Julian Gardner, “Mad” Marty Wilson, Dave Colclough, Kevin O’Connell, Nick Leeson, Ken Doherty, Matthew Stevens, and Stephen Hendry.

Casinos: Casinos give $63,000 to gambling group

“Shreveport-Bossier City casinos Tuesday gave $63,084 to the Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling in recognition of Responsible Gaming Week, which started Monday and ends Friday.

Boomtown Casino and Hotel, DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Eldorado Shreveport Casino, Harrah’s Louisiana Downs, Horseshoe Casino and Hotel and Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino Shreveport each gave money that will be used to fund training, education and continued support of the association’s programs, according to a news release from the association.”

“Each night has a headlining event. Wednesday will have hot air balloon rides, which require an additional fee as they are not provided by Dreamland Amusement. On Thursday at 6 p.m. there will be a mud bog. Friday at 7 p.m. there will be a demolition derby and Saturday there will be a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. On Sunday morning, beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a horse show and from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. there will be a tractor pull…The fair is put on by the Knights of Columbus of Cambridge, N.Y. and Hoosick Falls, N.Y. The Knights of Columbus is a non-profit organization that donates all income to charity.”
